Welcome!

This group originated on LinkedIn (still there, by the way - if you're on LinkedIn, com join us). Interest was expressed in having a CPWA site on the web. This is it, so far.

Use the forum to tell us how you found this group or other things that irk and interest you.

To personalize your page, click on "My Page," then "My Page" under your photo, then "Appearance," then "All Options." Use the left/right arrows at the top to see all your "them" choices.

If you'd like to delete comments and activities from your page, simply hover your cursor over the comment and you'll see an "x" in the upper right. Click that and it's gone.

P.S. Please ignore the ads on the right.

P.P.S. The RSS feeds below are literary agent blogs -- well worth the look if you're an aspiring author.

best, Leon

No Such Thing as a Bad Idea? 6 Replies

By Jack Lynch

Have you ever heard of WEbook?

I never had.

Chip MacGregor mentioned them in his posting today and that they now link up writers with lit agents.

Here's their home page blurb:

http://www.webook.com/

So you want to be a writer!
Once upon a time, writers were solitary creatures, agonizing in isolation over every word, waiting for the day when their books would get noticed by an agent and wind up on the shelves of bookstores around the world.

No longer! In the brave new world of a… Continue

Ten Ways to Save Face on Facebook

by Peter Lloyd for IT Experts, Job Hunting

Forewarned is forearmed. And we’ve all been forewarned: Watch what you post on Facebook.

A CareerBuilder survey found that 45% of employers use social networking sites to weed out job candidates. When evaluating candidates, 29% snoop around Facebook, 26% scout LinkedIn, and 21% check out MySpace. With six of us scrambling for every job out there, all it takes is a compromising picture to make you one of the five out.

This new investigative capability… Continue

Our Animal Bodies

Just taking a moment to feeeeel how it feeeels to be on the massage table again... in your body... arriving here... and just knowing that the body memory of every massage you've ever received is here now, calling that good feeeeeling back, and allowing it to be here, and knowing that we'll add to that memory bank of feelings before we're done...

Most of the work that I do gets done in the first 2 minutes and last 2 minutes of a session.

And the time in between - really and truly it does… Continue

Back with the pro crowd

Hi Cert Pros,

So nice to be part of a renegade creative group. I got into a bit of a flame (shame on me; hand smacked) on a LinkedIn Eds.& Writers site - - the discussion with the title about Seven Rules for Writing Online or somesuch. Quite the humorless smackdown. Actually just the bits between myself and the discussion leader; the innocent bystanders seem to be fine folk.

Anyhow, feels good to exhale among friends. Finished a nice 500 word piece today. I'll tell you the particulars if i… Continue
