Welcome!

This group originated on LinkedIn (still there, by the way - if you're on LinkedIn, come join us: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?about=&gid=1973734&trk=anet_ug_grppro).

Interest was expressed in having a CPWA site on the web. This is it, so far.

Use the forum to tell us how you found this group or other things that irk and interest you.

To personalize your page, click on "My Page," then "My Page" under your photo, then "Appearance," then "All Options." Use the left/right arrows at the top to see all your "them" choices.

If you'd like to delete comments and activities from your page, simply hover your cursor over the comment and you'll see an "x" in the upper right. Click that and it's gone.

P.S. Please ignore the ads on the right.

P.P.S. The RSS feeds below are literary agent blogs -- well worth the look if you're an aspiring author.

best, Leon

Actually, I take that back. If the job went to press without sign-off from the client, then it's the printer's (silkscreener's, painter's) fault and the client gets a make-over. A one-off job like this was most likely…

Thank you, Dave. Ning offered far more flexibility, but it never attracted very many people. I think one-tenth of the number on LI. So it's a bummer, but there seem to be so many more folks already taking advantage of the LI…

Actually, proofreading is not the printer's job. All copy should be proofed long before it gets to the printer. And few printers make signs this large, so it was probably subbed out to a silkscreen or sign painting vendor. Still, it's…

We know (or maybe we know) how spelling is taught in elementary school... but how do adults learn it?

I remember having lists of words every Monday when I was in elementary school.. and on Fridays, we had a spelling test. Maybe all we had to deal with were 10 words in first through third grade, but with fourth grade and the remaining years, we seemed to have 25 to 40 spelling words to learn by the end of each week.Maybe my teachers also slipped in a few words that we needed to know when we studied other subjects (they most likely did)--but for some reason, I don't remember ever having a hard…See More

Have you ever heard of WEbook?

I never had.

Chip MacGregor mentioned them in his posting today and that they now link up writers with lit agents.

Here's their home page blurb:

So you want to be a writer!

Once upon a time, writers were solitary creatures, agonizing in isolation over every word, waiting for the day when their books would get noticed by an agent and wind up on the shelves of bookstores around the… Continue

Forewarned is forearmed. And we’ve all been forewarned: Watch what you post on Facebook.

A CareerBuilder survey found that 45% of employers use social networking sites to weed out job candidates.
